Submission Guidelines for the Journal of the Neurogenic Bladder Society

  1. As a general rule, the content of original papers published by the Neurogenic Bladder Society appears in the journal.
  2. The author must be a member of the society.
  3. The structure of the paper should contain the title, affiliation, author’s name, abstract (400 characters max), introduction, method, results (or case presentation), speculations and bibliography in this order.

  5. There should be no more than 35 600-character pages including figures (typically 400 characters for each) and the bibliography (max 10 pages when printed for publication).
  6. The manuscript should be on A4 paper printed for 600 characters per page, numbered starting with the title page. There should be page breaks before and after the abstract, introduction and bibliography.
  7. Attached should be keywords (no more than three in Japanese and English) and the author’s name, affiliation, title, and abstract all in English (with Japanese translations).
  8. Use Japanese except for proper nouns and technical terms with no Japanese translation. Avoid using abbreviations, but give the full term for the first appearance if this cannot be helped.
  9. Figures should be made as small as possible, and images printed on black and white film such as X-rays should be submitted.
  10. Bibliographical references should be presented in the order they are cited in the text, showing the name of the author(s), title, publication (and abbreviation), volume, starting and end page, and year of publication. For independent books, give the title (essay title, book title and editor if a compilation), edition, publisher, place of publication, year and pages cited.

  11. For permission to reuse cited figures and literature, the author should contact the publisher and send a copy of a document granting permission to the Neurogenic Bladder Society Secretariat along with the submitted manuscript.
  12. As for printing fees, the first three pages are free, but the cost of printing each subsequent page (approximately 5,000 yen each) and supplementary printings are to be borne by the author.
  13. Send three identical transcripts (two can be copies) for submission to the Neurogenic Bladder Society Secretariat.
  14. As accepted transcripts will be proofread, the proofreader’s full name and contact information will appear on the title page.
  15. All copyrights for papers appearing in the journal are transferred to the society. The writer’s rights will not be restricted, but the Neurogenic Bladder Society must be informed in advance of the work being reused.
